Eva Mendes (born in New York City) is an American actress and model. An agent for talent noticed her talents and urged her to make a profession as a model or actor. After much consideration she decided to drop out of the university to enter the entertainment industry. After being disappointed by her appearance, she made her film debut with Children of the Corn V Fields of Terror. In order to perfect her performance, she worked really hard and appeared in many low-budget flicks to showcase her talents. While it wasn't an easy path to take however, her determination and tenacity were well-rewarded. Her acting career took off when she was able to earn not only praise but also recognition for her role as a character in Training Day.
